Today, it's fame has gone beyond frontiers, becoming a drink with great world recognition. This situation somehow made tequila vulnerable, due to the pseudo-tequilas, that tried to take advantage of it, offering products that didn't have anything to do with its nature. To protect and safeguard Tequila, The Mexican Counsel of Tequila Regulations (CRT) was created.

While a certain amount of Mexicans considered tequila as a low end product, others always defended it, having the basis of the strong link between the drink, the traditions and authenticity of México.
